She was electrocuted on a NYC sidewalk while walking her dogs. It was ConEd's fault--a metal cover in the sidewalk over an electric junction box (there are thousands of these all over NYC) had become electrified because the wiring insulation underneath was corroded by the salt constantly used to melt snow on the sidewalks and streets. She was only 30. By all accounts she was a truly beautiful and exceptional person--one in a million--and was a doctoral candidate at Columbia Teacher's College.
