: The Grand Canyon was humbling. It was amazing! I can't believe that I ran down an unprotected mountain face and out onto a rock formation a la THE ROADRUNNER SHOW. I could already see the 'POOF' as I peered over the side, surprised that I didn't get dizzy and fall. It was one of the stupidest things I ever did. I'm glad. Oh yes, I'm convinced I need to walk more, to work out more in general. Everyone walks here, just like in Boulder, CO. Most people are healthy and it seems hiking is the order of the day. Still, both college towns.
: Usery Park is a wash of cacti. At night the sunlight plays off of their thorny arms stretching a shimmering blanket across the desert landscape. Everything is clean here. Either in the wild or in the cities of Phoenix and Tempe. If there ARE bad parts of town they are better than some of the nicer parts of Tampa. The roads are litter free. The medians and yards are well planted and maintained. Everything is clean and green and beautiful. Tempe is one of the prettiest cities I've seen so far. Oh yeah, I'm wearing medium shirts and NOT sweating. It's great!
: Jared(guy I stayed with) and I have had Indian food every night. He is from Karnataka. All his friends are international students. He also caught me up on Indian films. The food was great, better than I expected. I even learned how to cook some meals. That made me feel very good! Overall, this trip was VERY satisfying and I hope for many more like it. Too bad Jared and his friends aren't in Tampa. I'm sure we'd be hanging out all the time. But for now, I have one more day until I come home. So, hopefully tonight we'll have yet another adventure. I know some girlfriends of Jared are coming over tonight for dinner and some movies.
: So, how are things going with you all? I'll be home soon enough. Oh yeah, I kept thinking of Cari the whole time. I guess it's an AZ connexion.
