My friends are a bunch of dreamers who support and piss all over each others' dreams. We hang out during the wreck and after the wreckage and stick around to see who will be there after the vultures come. Then we conceive of the next version of the City of God, build it out of faith and scruples and lots of shared sweat (don't underestimate shared sweat) and ride it out until we find that the 'glory has departed' and we are sitting under yet another Ichabod sign, watching the fall of yet another Babylon. The neat thing about this is that we do not despise the dark moments when they come. The golden bond of our friendship remains intact throughout many dark ages. It is a mystical unity that cuts like a golden thread through the ruins of all our former worlds.

Today I was thinking about so many of my friends. Some of them I still talk too, some I interact with here on this board. Some I rarely see. Still, there is some kind of bond that will always be there. I was thinking this as I talked to Chris K. the other night. I was thinking of this when I got an email from Rob the other day, or one from John McGee or one from Jonvon. Just yesterday I heard from Bob the Alien. I feel that my life is all the better for having them in it, even if I am separated by geography or life choices, etc.

I guess I just wanted to say that with all I've been through with people who may sometimes read this board, I feel my life is the better for having known you, even if we are not in contact on a regular basis. So, I just wanted to say 'thanks' and let you know I'm greatful to have known you. You have made my life more grand.
