: You got concerns for Bush, pray for him! There is two many people with their opinions of what is going on right now, for now He is the person God put over us and I'm sure covets our prayers, everyone has opinions like we all do butholes and a lot of our holes have the same fragrance as our opinions, enjoy your book.

PJ,

I do pray for President Bush. I also agree with him about many things, esp. moral issues like abortion and gay 'marriage' (though I don't support any proposed amendments to the U.S. Constitution). However, I think one of the great things about the way our country was formed was that we allowed ourselves the freedom to express differing points of view and considered this process of value. I do not think that it is constructive to merely Bush bash. However, I think it's not only a priviledge but a duty for men to call their leaders to account, and I feel that is what Norm Mailer and Senator Robert C. Byrd are doing in their own unique ways. I have always respected Steve for allowing various different viewpoints to be expressed in this community. I imagine as long as this board exists, Steve will allow this, as he has proven to be very open about ideas and learning. The hifidelity board is one place I've always come to hear great discussions about a variety of topics with multiple points of view. It has been a place of learning and community, just like our government and nation were conceived to be. I hope for this kind of America and I hope for the hifidelity board to continue down that path of mutual learning and sharing. Forgive me if this sounds angry or hostile. I can guarantee you I'm only saying this with respect and that I'm not angry with you or anyone else. I do disagree with you however about your comment about there being too many people with opinions. I may disagree with another person's opinions, but I do not belittle them. My main concern in what you wrote is that we might silence great thoughts and discussions or close down learning or that we could arrive at false conclusions by not sharing ideas.
