: Oh and one more thing... the girls in junior high are scared to death of being considered "hentai" or perverted, but half of them carry some form of Playboy merchandise, from hand towels to pencil cases...one popular one decorated with pictures of the girls all over it in revealing poses (no actual nudity). I haven't had the heart to explain the cultural difference yet. I don't want to embarass them so bad they never talk to me again (it's a real concern) nor do I want to sully their innocent minds with such things. To them it's just a cute bunny in a bowtie and a bunch of really pretty foreign girls...

: : This website cracks me up...but I now live in that culture. It's really funny to hear some of the kids come out with stuff like this. The other day a kid kept saying, "holdo me, holdo me!" So I kept teasing like I was trying to hug him. 2 days later a Japanese English teacher heard him and realized that he was trying to quote a song where they say "hold on me" which is supposed to mean "hold on" and "wait for me" and comes out together.
: : And the food is even Engrishy... yesterday's school lunch was a plate of chewing tobacco with earth worms cut up in it...no really, it looked, smelled, and felt just like it. I think it was actually some sort of seaweed in a sauce with 'konyaku' or devil's tongue jelly noodles...but not knowing any better, you'd have sworn you got a plate of bait. Didn't taste too bad though!
