I haven't seen anything like that personally because we're in a rural area. All that stuff centers in Tokyo. But I've seen it on TV. Cute really is the operative word here. My bank book has cute furry creatures on it, and my cloth napkin I was given has flowers all over it. I tried to buy a deck of cards today and the only thing in town has a cute little train character on the back.

There's also this crazy style from Tokyo called "Morio" in guys and "gangaro", or "yamamba" in girls. They die their hair crazy colors like pink and orange, tease it out like tina turner, and then tan their skin dark bronze. They wear white or silver eye makeup and lipstick and put cute stickers under their eyes. They wear bright colors and cute toys and stuff. They even talk in this really wierd cutesy slang. The whole point is to be cute, like anime. I haven't seen any, and doubt I could understand them anyway, but I'd love to meet them. They look really cool, like some sort of rainbow Indian punk or something.

: I couldn't really find any Little Bo Peep stuff, but I did find this and this.

: Oh yeah according to Satoshi Kawase, "CUTE goes a long way in Japan".
