I've got an American Dell laptop here in Japan with a cd-r/dvd combo drive, typical stuff. I was trying to hook it up to the TV so we can use it like a DVD player. I know someone who had a similar dell and did the same thing. I was using an s-video cable. The TV recognized that something was attached as evidenced by the change in the screen when I turned the laptop on, but I couldn't get the video to show up. Just blank screen on the TV. I tried all the simple stuff but my tech skills are limited. Any advice?
Notes: 1. I have Windows XP professional. 2. Japanese TV's use the same NTSC format. 3. I know it's not a mac (Steve) but let's work with what we have ;)
