: Just a wee reminder that Christmas is not over. Currently it's the 6th-7th day of the Christmas season and it extends until Jan. 6th, Epiphany. In the last week we have had the Feasts of Stephen the first recorded martyr, John, the Beloved and the Holy Innocents (children murdered by Herod as he sought to destroy the Christ). Use this time to contemplate the wonders of this season. Don't let Christmas end in your hearts on Dec. 25th. It's a great season for contemplating the mystery of the entry of Jesus Christ into our world. Not to say you can only do this 12 days a year, but this is time set aside for giving special attention to this mystery of Emmanuel, God coming among us. This is why we have the song THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS and earlier songs like A NEW DIAL, which celebrate all 12 days of Christmas! Happy New Year, yes, but even more, Merry Christmas, as the season is still upon us!
