In addition to those very good friends who posted here, I did receive quite a few emails from others who encouraged me at length, some from far away, and still others I have spent time with have been wonderfully encouraging also. I cannot explain how much that means to me, and I can only say "thank-you" from the bottom of my heart. I almost made a long list of names here, but I'm not sure that's what is best--you all know who you are, and God who sees in secret will reward you openly.
I heard from others who have gone through this kind of thing and some who are also now going through a dark time. I am not alone. And I want you all to know that you are not either. I will devote myself to praying for you all. You have been a tremendous blessing, and you deserve to be blessed!
If any of you decide to post some of your thoughts here as well that might be encouraging to others, that would be awesome.
It has been a sad time. Last night our beloved little rodent Gimli died in Cari's arms. We had him since he was a tiny baby, and he was very old and sick, but he was sweet and loving to the end. Such a sweet spirit! We just fell in love with him. I never dreamed I would so love a rat. I know it must sound silly but you just have no idea what a blessing he was. We will see him again.
I have so much I want to say, but I have to go. I have stacks of papers backed up to be graded and an exam Monday I have to study for, and life will not wait for me to catch up. Too bad. I wish we could all take a break and just leave for a month of worship somewhere.
