Talked to Kim (last name?) about teaching classes in the fall. The conversation was over when he found out there might be a schedule conflict; I may have the class "Theory & Method in Religious Studies" on Tuesday nights, which is required to complete my masters classes in the fall. That is the only night you all have classes on. We'll see, though...
Great to see you and your beautiful wife. Great to se the Oxen duo, singing and percussing. Enjoyed the music. Great to see Debbie, Pat, Lindsey and Lynn, Peter, Dan, Toni, & Tam.
I have some other churches to check out also, so may not be at RLF repeatedly. I really want to go where God wants me and I have to be sure about where that is. Am I supposed to be a teacher? Worship leader? Assoc. pastor? Elder? Or am I supposed to be an average Joe who is unknown to have ever been otherwise?
And, to be honest, there may be too much history at RLC (CLF) anyway. I think you can figure that out. ;-)
I am thinking about entering a ThD program instead of a PhD program. If I do enter a PhD program, it will have to be at a university that is faith friendly, where my mentor is a man of faith. I will not spend years laboring on a dissertation to be presented before a committee that will be devalue any hypostatization of the transcendent. I would gladly work under someone like Luke Timothy Johnson at Emory, but men like him are few and far between in the secular universities.
