I love Huston Smith. I have read WHY RELIGION MATTERS, and I also have some episodes of his Bill Moyers appearances. Great stuff! I loved it when he shared about his experience of hearing the multiphonic singing of Tibetan monks. In this specialized form of singing the monks are trained to simultaneously sing more than one note at a time, up to three I think. This creates a remarkably full sound, which reminds me of the sound of electrical current running through wires.
