: : : Sounds as if you both are talking about the "monk in the world" lifestyle. I call it that because of a book I have with that title, written by the late Wayne Teasdale, a former Benedictine who came to feel it was his calling to live monastic ideal out in the world, as far as possible. Very interesting book, great man. I've provided a link, in case you're interested.

: : Thanks Dave. Yeah, I think that I'm definitely going that route. Thanks for sharing. I'll check this out for sure.

: I know you're a fan of Merton, because you introduced me to him. He wrote glowingly of Fr. Bede Griffiths, the former pupil and subsequent life-long friend of C.S. Lewis who spent the last 40 years of his life in India (isn't funny how these people are all interconnected?), where he took charge of Saccidananda Ashram after its founder, Fr. Henri le Saux, took the name Abhishiktananda and left for a hermitage in the Himalayas. And Teasdale was a disciple of Fr. Bede. I've copied some other great sites below, if you're interested. (I haven't figured out how to do multiple hyperlinks yet, if anyone would care to advise.)

Thanks for sharing these sites Dave. For the links you just use the following code, only substitute the {} with < and > Hope that helps.

{a href="http://place your url here"}place title of page here{/a}

For multiple listings, simply repeat but change urls and titles:

{a href="http://place your url here"}place title of page here{/a}
{a href="http://place your url here"}place title of page here{/a}
{a href="http://place your url here"}place title of page here{/a}

Like so... Hope that helps. I recall how frustrating it was for me years ago seeing people putting that stuff into their posts, and me not knowing how.

You can also share images with a tag like this:

{img src="http://picture url"}

Just remember to change the {} to < and >.

By the way, if you need more help with any html stuff, feel free to ask me or there are plenty of sites online which will explain html and give an explanation and lists of html codes for you.

Later, Bill
