I got introduced to Christain Music in the Mid eighties, seventh grade...It started with Petra & White Heart and then Stryper...There was a whole flux of Christain Bands suddenly...The Show was Living Water on Saturday nights on WCIE 91.1, 5 hours of everything until the bottom fell out and Stryper was suddenly considered "not Christain". I attended Night of Joy quite frequently and was at The above mentioned one. Everytime I had a chance to see Stryper live, something came up, So I never saw them live until The Reunion at Jannus in 2003. I also learned that Rock The Universe is better than Night of Joy. As for other bands and genres. I got an introduction to other styles through The Refuge & Meigs Version of Crossover...Hardcore, Punk, Ska, Swing..Whatever Deiphobia & Virus was...I don't now if they were considered Techno or house or amebiec...And then you got Joy Electric...Posting this brings up some memories of Win. How I went to The BSU at USF with my Youth Director my Senior year of High School and met Win. I was amazed by his CD collection...It was like every Stryper & Every Vengence Rising...It was also Win that informed me That King's X actually had 4 Different color Dogman covers. It was also he that insisted I see Payable On Death (POD)and then was, I think, the last time I saw him.
