My right thumb is just about useless at this point. It has been getting worse and worse for about 3-4 months now, and is very painful. The 2 joints have apparently worn out from excessive use; the top one pops in and out of joint, and there's lots of excess cartilage growth around the bottom joint, making it look huge, and even worse, stretching the tendons, which are screaming in pain as they stretch around the boney extrusions.
I cannot write without substantial pain. I am experimenting with new ways to hold pens, and I'm using gel rollers which require almost no pressure at all. I cannot possibly switch hands and learn to write with my left, as I need to write quickly and clearly for my graduate classes. I may have to resort to typing my notes, which I would really hate. The desks in most of the Cooper Hall rooms are just not really laptop friendly.
Anyway, I sure could use prayer on this one. I appreciate those who have been praying.
