: I just wouldn't expect to pack the house out with 'em because like Give said, most of those people have moved on.

I think alot of it too is that many of them have gotten married and settled down into careers and familiy raising since then and the network has dissolved between them. For instance, when I was into those bands, most of the guys I knew who listened to them were single or just dating and still had plenty of time for talking to each other about music. Next thing you know, they all get married, move away, change churches or whatnot. So, their music network that kept them on top of things, was uprooted. Life happens. People move on.

Petra was my first Christian rock band. I'll always like everything from Beat the System back. Anything beyond that I lost connection with since then I was listening to harder stuff like Saint, Messiah Prophet, Bride, Barren Cross, Bloodgood, etc. Can you believe that? You know, I'd love to hear some of the old stuff again. Then there was Undercover, Adam Again and DA type stuff.

Although I don't connect directly with the Christian music community through the concert scene, I do still stay in touch w it somewhat through friends like Bill Clifton in Daigaku and Drift. So I haven't totally wrinkled up. Actually, these days I'm more into just music that touches me deeply whether it's older or newer. And I've always been more into cds that I could play over and over, than concerts you can only see once. Still, I enjoyed concerts too.
