This website cracks me up...but I now live in that culture. It's really funny to hear some of the kids come out with stuff like this. The other day a kid kept saying, "holdo me, holdo me!" So I kept teasing like I was trying to hug him. 2 days later a Japanese English teacher heard him and realized that he was trying to quote a song where they say "hold on me" which is supposed to mean "hold on" and "wait for me" and comes out together.
And the food is even Engrishy... yesterday's school lunch was a plate of chewing tobacco with earth worms cut up in it...no really, it looked, smelled, and felt just like it. I think it was actually some sort of seaweed in a sauce with 'konyaku' or devil's tongue jelly noodles...but not knowing any better, you'd have sworn you got a plate of bait. Didn't taste too bad though!
