This is something I just had to share.
There's this crazy sport here called male synchronized swimming. It takes place in large teams of like 10 or so, and in a shallow pool, about 4.5 feet deep. It's really popular with high school guys. It uses amped up music like euro-pop and rock, and incorporates elements of gymnastics, swimming, acrobatics, and dance. The routines are all kind of funny in a full monty sort of way. It's crazy, but we just watched the second tournament on TV since we've been here. It's actually kind of addictive once you get passed the decidedly American macho thing about it.
I know it won't really make sense to you without seeing it, so I've included a link to the movie Water Boys (also followed up by 2 TV series that popularized the sport.
