I think you have hit the nail on the head here. Some tend to look more at the past, and some (like me) focus predominantly on the future--as if it would turn out like we expect!
The past is precious, and the future is hope, but today is the day we must live our lives. Today God is here. Today the doorway to eternity stands open. Today we have the opportunity to touch another's life.
The fully-lived todays will make up the precious memories of tomorrow.
