: : yeah, but the fact that we fit in with the misfits says it all.

: : I didn't realize the reasoning behind why politicians are always beardless. I know they gave Al Gore a hard time when he grew his out. Complete foolishness. Most of the founding fathers had big bushy beards or moustaches or more likely huge sideburns.

: Tim, body hair is scary to people since it's uncontrollable and grows in it's own way. It makes people more unique and interesting so I think that's why they want to keep it at bay. Plus, it's another way of taming people psychologically. I used to hate beards due to this subtle cultural influence. I don't think there is anything wrong w shaving, but I do think there is something wrong with it mattering so much. One thing male facial hair reminds me of is breasts on women. Women have various sizes and shapes and men may have various lengths and styles of beards. Of course the way women dress can conceal or reveal more of their uniqueness. Same with the way a man wears his facial hair. More power to all kinds of beards.

i guess that is what irritates me is ho much little things matter. you hit it on the head likening facial hair to breasts. suppose corporate society deemed breasts inapropriate, forcing women to wear something that kept them flat looking? it's that rediculous to me.
