Right on, man! Job 38:3 NIV I had to look it up and see what passage and which translation it was...I think I have a new favorite saying.

: I'm with you there. It's funny to me that someone as stubborn and independent as me would feel so strongly about submission to God's will. I guess it comes with the territory. I've had my share of battling his will only to be forced into the dirt and even then I kept fighting. I've been fully broken before. Not a fun expereince, but in the end I love him even more. I love the passage in Job where Job is finally letting it out and whining and railing at God and God's response is "brace yourself like a man, for I will question you." After which he proceeds to properly put Job in his place. It is not our place to question, we just know by experience and faith that he is a good God and that he will make things far better for us than we can understand.

: And once we understand this and have a proper respect we can see how gentle and loving he is. I know alot of people aren't in a place to handle the fierceness of God, and that is between they and He, but I love him all the more for knowing he can simultaneously obliterate matter, create galaxies, and hold me gently. It's sublime, like swimming in a raging sea...the more you fight the worse it gets, but if you relax it will actually hold you up! But either way you have no power to change anything.

: : the problem is people measuring what is fair and good based on an idealistic humanitarian eutopian dream. The hard reality is we don't always get it, we can't comprehend, but God is in control and does love us. Life sucks sometimes and it's never fair. My mom used to tell me that all the time when I was a kid. And I was always asking her why, and she'd say because, and that was that.

: : I digress, anyway, when a human tries to measure what is just in terms of God's doing based on our own self serving ideas of what is fair, then we will always come to the conclusion that He is Evil, as you said. Playing a realy cruel joke. However, we have understand that we don't have to understand. breath deep. right, hold for a moment. good. release. ah, that feels nice.

: : Father forgive me for ever questioning your motivations...
